Second Roundtable Series between Australia Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI), and RMIT University Vietnam
Last Thursday, the Australia Vietnam Policy Institute (AVPI), together with RMIT University Vietnam, hosted its first roundtable in Hanoi as part of the AVPI’s second roundtable series. The roundtable discussion focused on what a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) between Australia and Vietnam could achieve, exploring opportunities in trade and investment, with a focus on the visitor economy, mining, and professional services.
The roundtable was co-facilitated by Layton Pike, AVPI Co-Founder and Executive Director, International at RMIT University, and also welcomed Ms Sarah Hooper, Australia Chargé d'affaires, alongside leaders from Hanoi across education, government, and industry.
With the recent elevation to a CSP, it was great to hear an update from Ms Hooper on the economic relationship between Australia and Vietnam. Discussions were held on the necessary steps to increase awareness of the opportunities in Hanoi, providing strong insights into the role of digital innovation across the visitor economy, mining, and professional services sector.
Participants also shared realistic measures to improve the investment landscape and ways to drive better and more successful engagement between Australia and Vietnam.
Thank you to all the attendees for joining us at the Hanoi roundtable and sharing their experiences. The AVPI looks forward to developing the roundtable insights into a summary paper in the coming months.
