Overview:

Sharing Hub is a series of workshops hosted once every two/three month coordinated by VBCWE members. The host company can choose the topic to share (for FedEx, we recommend D, E&I because it is one of your strong suits) and format (online).

A little background on D, E, and I:

Diversity encompasses all of the ways in which people differ, including the various characteristics that distinguish one individual or group from another. While race, ethnicity, and gender are commonly used to define diversity, we embrace a broader definition of diversity that includes age, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, education, marital status, language, and physical appearance.

Equity is the fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement of all people, while also attempting to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented some groups from fully participating. Improving equity entails increasing justice and fairness within institutions' or systems' procedures and processes, as well as in their resource distribution. Addressing equity issues necessitates an understanding of the underlying causes of disparities in our society's outcomes.

Inclusion is the act of creating environments in which any individual or group can feel welcomed, respected, supported, and valued in order for them to fully participate. An inclusive and welcoming environment embraces differences and shows respect for all people through words and actions.

Having DEI policies in the workplace like FedEx promotes the representation and active participation of various groups of people, regardless of their differences. To be more specific, each term is clearly defined and reflects specific aspects that FedEx supports.

As a result, for the time being, we recommend hosting this topic as a webinar with FedEx.
