VIAC

On 16 November 2023, Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) joined forces to host the “Launching Seminar of Review Report on PPP Model Contracts and Report on Mobilizing New Financing for Infrastructure Projects in Vietnam”. These reports, meticulously crafted by a team of experts, have been shaped through extensive consultation workshops and valuable input from various stakeholders such as government representatives, investors, business associations, and research institutes. The objective of these reports is to capture the essence of implementing PPP projects in Vietnam over the past years and propose measures for enhancing the existing mechanisms, policies, and legal framework.

David

AusCham Vice-President David Whitehead attended and gave comments. He appreciated the efforts of VIAC and the authors to produce these insightful reports. Drawing from the experiences of AusCham members and his own expertise as a foreign investor in Vietnam, he emphasized the importance of transparency and openness as key factors for successful PPP projects. Furthermore, he highlighted the significance of adhering to strict deadlines and timeframes, enabling the Government of Vietnam, contractors, and other stakeholders to collaborate harmoniously, like a committed "husband" and "wife", to drive the efficiency of PPP projects in Vietnam to new heights.
VIAC and the authors wholeheartedly agree with David’s comments and will carefully consider incorporating them into the report.
