The Vietnam-Australia Business Council (VABC) is officially established
Hanoi, Tuesday 13 July 2021 - The Vietnam-Australia Business Council (VABC) is officially established! The newly formed Vietnam-Australia Business Council (VABC) is a key platform for building stronger partnerships between Australian and Vietnamese businesses through the collaboration of The Australian Chamber of Commerce Vietnam (AusCham) and Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and selected members of both organizations sitting on the Board of the VABC. The VABC will contribute to the goals of the Australia-Vietnam Enhanced Economic Engagement Strategy (EEES), due to be delivered this year, to double two-way investment and become top-10 trading partners between Australia and Vietnam. The Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, The Hon. Dan Tehan MP and the Australia Embassy representatives witnessed this milestone event, the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between AusCham and to establish the VABC. The event was attended by Jimmy Pham, Vice-President and Patrick Chang, AusCham and VABC Board Member. It is important to understate the catalyst for this council was suggested in 2019 by Dr Loc, Chairman of the VCCI in his address to the Australian Prime Minister on his visit to Ha Noi Vietnam at an organized event between AusCham and the Australian Embassy; after almost 2 years, "the timing could not have been better" said Simon Fraser, Executive Director of AusCham who also thanked Chau Ta, previous AusCham Board Member, the AusCham Board of 2020 and Thao Griffiths of the VCCI - All of who had been instrumental in creating this strong coalition of business members.
