VBF's courtesy meeting with the General Department of Taxation
On 5 October 2023, VBF Management Board and Head of Tax & Customs Working Group (TCWG) Ms. Huong Vu had a working session with Mr. Mai Xuan Thanh, newly-appointed General Director of the General Department of Taxation (GDT) at GDT head-quarters in Hanoi.
At the meeting, VBF and GDT have discussed a new cooperation mechanism, in which both sides agree to set up quarterly meeting between VBF members and GDT (03 meetings per year) and 02 workshops in Hanoi and HCMC to provide training and updates to VBF members on key tax regulations. The both sides also emphasize the two pillars of the mutual cooperation, which is to:
Eliminate discrepancies, ensuring consistency in the implementation process of local tax departments; and
Actively involve in the consultation process to amend tax laws, create an open legal corridor, and attract foreign investment.
VBF Tax & Customs Working Group usually organizes periodic dialogues with GDT and closely works with its relevant departments in progress to continue reforming procedures and policies, creating fairness and convenience for the investment and business environment in Vietnam.

Invitation to the “MADE IN VIETNAM ENERGY FORUM” by VBF Power & Energy Working Group
We would like to invite you to the upcoming Made in Vietnam Energy Forum organized by VBF Power & Energy Working Group to discuss Vietnam's strategies and policies for the ongoing energy transition, offer the private sector's views on how to attract the necessary financing for this process and present the findings and implications from the third edition of the Made in Vietnam Energy Plan Report (MVEP 3.0).
The Forum is part of VBF and its Power & Energy Working Group's efforts to support the Government in the transition from a 'brown' to a 'green' growth model, leveraging internal capabilities while accessing external resources to drive the economy's long-term growth. The Forum is organized in the context of the COP28 Conference in Dubai and we anticipate that the discussions held during this event will offer valuable insights to support the Government in achieving the net-zero commitments.
