The Visit of Australia Governor-General to Vietnam

The Governor General and Mrs Hurley are undertaking a State Visit to Vietnam. This is an important year for our bilateral relationship—marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries.

The visit is an opportunity to celebrate the close relationship and partnership between our two nations.
During their time in Vietnam, the Governor-General will hold high level discussions with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh,  and President of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue.

The Governor-General and Mrs Hurley will participate in a number of events that will highlight the depth of the Australia-Vietnam relationship, including our strong education, economic and people-to-people links.
On arrival, the Governor-General and Mrs Hurley had the opportunity to meet long-term Australian expats working and living in Hanoi.
