Hanoi, 12 May, 2026 - AusCham was pleased to participate in the Roundtable Discussion on โDeepening the VietnamโAustralia Comprehensive Strategic Partnershipโ, hosted by the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) under a research project funded by the Vietnam Australia Centre in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
The event brought together representatives from Australiaโs Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), alongside senior diplomats, policy experts, and leaders from Vietnamโs foreign affairs community to exchange perspectives on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the new phase of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Representing AusCham, Natalie Fairlie, Vice President of AusCham, and Managing Director of Ascending Strategies and Mr. Tuong Tran, Country Director of HEX (both companies are AusCham members), shared practical insights from the business and education sectors on strengthening VietnamโAustralia economic engagement.
In her remarks, Natalie highlighted the increasingly practical, commercial, and future-oriented nature of the bilateral relationship, noting that Australian businesses continue to view Vietnam as a long-term strategic market driven by strong economic growth, digital transformation, and regional connectivity.

She also shared successful examples of Australian investment and partnership in Vietnam, including RMIT University Vietnam, NAB, SunRice, Mavin Group, and Allens, while pointing to the growing trend of Vietnamese enterprises such as FPT and Hoa Binh expanding into the Australian market โ reflecting a more dynamic and two-way partnership.
The discussion further emphasized the importance of translating high-level commitments into practical outcomes through regulatory reform, talent development, innovation cooperation, and sector-specific collaboration in areas such as education, digital economy, agriculture, renewable energy, and green transition.
AusCham remains committed to supporting meaningful business engagement and practical cooperation between Vietnam and Australia under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework.
