AusCham Guidelines: e-ID Registration for Foreigners and Businesses in Vietnam

anh

Vietnam is accelerating its digital transformation across both public and private sectors. In line with the Government’s broader agenda for administrative reform and e-government development, Decree 69/2024/NĐ-CP introduces a unified system of electronic identification (e-ID), known as VNeID, to streamline access to public services. This shift is particularly significant for foreign individuals residing and working in Vietnam, as well as for foreign-invested and domestic businesses operating in the country.

To support the business community and expatriates in understanding and complying with this new regulation, AusCham Vietnam has prepared the Guidelines: e-ID Registration for Foreigners and Businesses. This document summarizes key legal obligations, outlines the registration process, and highlights important timelines - all aimed at helping businesses and individuals navigate the transition effectively.

This paper follows the ongoing engagement between AusCham and relevant government stakeholders on digital policy implementation, and reflects our continued commitment to supporting a transparent, efficient, and inclusive business environment in Vietnam.
