Australian Music Examinations Board Ltd (AMEB)
About
Over the past 100 years, AMEB has helped generations of performing arts students and teachers to reach their potential.
Our system of graded assessments and qualifications in music was originally launched in 1887. This quickly set the benchmark in Australia and beyond. Resources and examinations were then introduced for speech and drama as early as the 1920s. They’re still integral to our program today.
Most recently we’ve added an exciting range of modern creative qualifications to our curriculum. These include contemporary music, dance, music production and vlogging.
We’ve also embraced new technologies and developed new learning platforms over the years. In 2010 we became the world’s first examination board to launch online music theory exams. Our online learners are now located all over the world.
Every day we’re building on our proud history to create a bright future for performing arts education.
Our world-class syllabuses provided teachers with a framework to structure lessons and prepare students to achieve their goals. Not only does our syllabus and exam system give students something to aim towards, it’s also a globally recognised qualification.
AMEB provides teachers with a wide range of learning resources to assist beginner through to advanced level students – across a variety of instruments, voice, speech and drama. With more coming to Vietnam – very soon.
We’re also facilitating workshops, training opportunities and providing online resources for Vietnamese teachers to stay up to date with the latest developments in the AMEB system and pedagogy.
