Australian Water Association
About
The Australian Water Association is the national peak water organisation, delivering information, expertise and collaboration for sustainable water management.
Membership is broadly-based and multi-disciplinary, covering the entire water cycle. The Australian Water Association provides the platform for our water experts, practitioners and businesses to share information, grow expertise and collaborate effectively. Our membership includes professionals and practitioners working in utilities, science and research, energy and resources, manufacturing and agriculture.
We operate across all Australian States and Territories through an active branch network as well as maintaining extensive international links, including with the Australian Water Association. The Australian Water Association’s activities are centered around a comprehensive program of conferences, workshops, publications, industry programs, training courses, networking and B2B opportunities. The Australian Water Association’s Annual Conference and Exhibition is Australia’s largest water industry event.
Through our extensive range of technical seminars, courses and conferences, we also provide a forum for debate and best practice dissemination at a local, national and international level. The Australian Water Association is committed to building Australia’s water capabilities to maintain its position as a world leader in water management.
Membership
The Australian Water Association works with and for our members to deliver programs and services that effectively meet their needs. A significant number of our members take an active and voluntary role in all aspects of the Association’s work at both a national and state level.
In 2015 membership stands at 4500+ individual members across the whole water cycle, 600+ corporate members including utilities, large water users, contractors, consulting firms, research organisations and suppliers & 100+ water utilities servicing 20+ million consumers. Our strong corporate membership base includes government agencies, Australia’s leading water utilities, engineering and manufacturing companies.
Services
The Australian Water Association runs a full program of technical seminars, workshops and conferences throughout the year. On average one Australian Water Association event is held every four days, Australia’s premier water industry event, Ozwater, is also managed by the Australian Water Association, The Australian Water Association also publishes a number of publications to keep our members informed about the latest news in developments in the water sector.
International Collaboration
The Australian Water Association is the gateway to international collaboration and networking in water. The Australian committee of the International Water Association is a branch of the Australian Water Association. Additionally, the Australian Water Association is a regional affiliate of the International Desalination Association and has strong bilateral ties with water associations around the globe.
